Vernon County Reads : Allen Eskens

This Thursday evening is the conclusion of the summer Vernon County Reads program with a presentation by featured author Allen Eskens. Since June people have been encouraged to stop by their local libraries to check out the books “The Life We Bury” and “The Shadows We Hide” by Minnesota author Allen Eskens. The program will be at the Westby Performing Arts Center at 7PM and refreshments will be served. FREE tickets for this event are available at the door, from your local Vernon County library staff, or online at wapac.ludus.com.

Allen Eskens is the bestselling author of The Life We Bury, The Guise of Another, The Heavens May Fall, The Deep Dark Descending, and The Shadows We Hide. He is the recipient of the Barry Award, Minnesota Book Award, Rosebud Award, and the Silver Falchion Award. His books have been translated into 21 languages and his novel, The Life We Bury is in development for a feature film. Allen grew up in the hills of central Missouri and he now lives in southeastern Minnesota where he recently retired after practicing criminal law for 25 years.

Books will be available for purchase at the book signing immediately following the event.
