What is so special about Veteran's Day?
Veteran's Day originated as "Armistice Day"...the day the armistice was signed that ended World War I, "at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918. It was originally intended to honor those servicemen who fought and died in "the war to end war".
After World War II and the Korean War, the holiday became "Veteran's Day" - a celebration to honor all of America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the good of all.
