Did you know that Knutson Memorial Library has a long-running book discussion group?
Our book selections cover a wide range of genres including classics, popular fiction, suspense, historical fiction. We also feature some relatively unknown authors, and occasionally even nonfiction. Titles on the list for 2020 include: "Nothing More Dangerous", "The Alice Network", "A Town Like Alice", "This Tender Land', "Where the Crawdads Sing", and "Bad Axe County".
Each month we meet on the last Tuesday to discuss the "book-of-the-month". Sometimes we haven't all finished the book...often we haven't all liked the book...we never get to all the literary "fine details"...but we always have a fun discussion!
In March, we are giving you a choice of similar historical fiction books: you may read either Resistance Women by Jennifer Chiaverini or The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Both are books by bestselling authors set in World War II France. The main theme both books have in common is the courage of women involved in the French Resistance; both are based on actual historic events. You are asked to read one of the choices; over-achievers and lovers of World War II history may of course read both!
Stop by the library and pick up a copy of your choice, read it, and then join the discussion on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 PM.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at the library!
